Easter Weekend Schedule
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most monumental day in all of history; the culmination of the revelation of who God is and of the provision for the greatest need of mankind. As the time approaches to commemorate this incredible event, we find ourselves in very unusual circumstances. Jesus is worthy of our highest praise, yet it is important for us to remain safe during these dangerous times.
In working personally with our county officials, they are in agreement with the following activities:
Drive Thru Lord’s Supper
Good Friday, April 10th: 1-3pm & 5-7pm
Pull into the Church parking lot and follow directions to the Portico in front of the Modern Worship/Youth building. There you will receive a prepackaged and self-contained wafer and cup (providers will be wearing gloves and masks). You will then proceed to park and tune your FM radio to the designated frequency where a repeating scripture reading of the Lord’s Supper will be given. Once finished follow the signs to exit.
The building will not be open or available for bathrooms or conversations.
Easter Sunrise Service
Easter Sunday, April 12th: 7am
Pull into the Church parking lot and follow directions for parking. Once parked, tune your radio to the designated FM frequency. A stage will be set up from which we will conduct the worship service in person. Unfortunately, this service will not be available online. Please refrain from getting out of your car. The building will not be open or available for bathrooms or conversations.
Easter Morning Online Worship Service
Easter Sunday, April 12th: 10:15am
Our regularly scheduled morning worship service will be broadcast live online only. Please join us online at actonbaptist.com, facebook live, Acton Baptist YouTube Channel or on Vimeo.
We are looking forward to an incredible weekend in the Lord who is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. God bless you all and we will see you this weekend, one way or another.
Acton Baptist Family,
At the time of this writing, there are still no reported cases of COVID-19 in Hood County, yet the CDC and President have recommended limits to the size of gatherings for the next 8 weeks in our nation. Presumably, the virus will make its way to Hood County at some point, if not already. There are many who, understandably, feel uncomfortable in public and others who are comfortable in public. With all of these factors in mind, we want to give the opportunity to attend small gatherings, yet without obligation and remaining socially responsible in not being a source for further spreading of the virus.
To these ends and until further notice, we will not hold public worship services on Sunday Morning. The Sunday Worship Service will broadcast at 10:15am Sunday Morning on the Acton Baptist Facebook page and at actonbaptist.com and will remain available to be viewed at any time.
In addition, we will not hold any formal Sunday School Classes. If a group of adults choose to meet Sunday Morning or at any other time during the week for Bible Study, we will make accommodations. Any other Small Groups (DGroups, Precepts, WOM etc) will be determined by the group itself. We are also working to provide additional online Bible Studies and seminars to provide for continued spiritual growth. These studies will be announced online ahead of time.
Wednesday Night meals are canceled until further notice, as well as Children, Preschool and Nursery. However Adult Bible Study and Youth Activities will remain for those who wish to attend. For Children and Preschool Ministries, Check Acton Baptist Kids Ministry on Facebook for connections and home Bible Study Ideas. (All Children and Preschool Ministries are postponed until further notice.)
This special time in history is presenting some wonderful opportunities to Serve Our Community in Christ. During this time, we will need volunteers to help with serving meals to students at Montego Bay, checking on Shut-ins and we will be contacting local organizations, like Meals on Wheels, to see if there are any needs. If you have extra time on your hands and can serve, there will be many ways that you can make an impact for the Kingdom. Call the Church Office to get info on how to volunteer.
Tithing and Giving. During this time, it is important for us all to remain faithful to the Lord in Tithes and Offerings. As you continue to give, you may do so by mail, or online through ABConnect. If you have not set up ABConnect yet, a simple set of instructions are being sent to your email. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Committee Meetings are to be determined by the Chairman and committee depending on need and ability to communicate over emails.
Sunday Night CMU is cancelled however, we will provide financial reports through email as soon as they are prepared.
The Prayer Breakfast for this Saturday is postponed, but we are encouraging every family to take the time to pray together at breakfast on Saturday. A prayer guide will be emailed to you this week.
By Faith in Christ,
Pastor Mark Roath
