David McClure

Associate Pastor of Discipleship

David serves as our Associate Pastor of Discipleship, where he helps guide adult discipleship and loves seeing families grow together in Christ. His heart beats for helping people come to know Jesus, grow deeper in their faith, and learn how to share Him with others.

He stepped into this role on January 1, 2022, bringing with him 27 years of ministry experience with youth and children. David is a graduate of U.T. Permian Basin (1996) with a B.A. in Humanities and secondary teaching certifications, and he holds two degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary—a Master of Arts in Christian Education (2004) and a Master of Divinity (2024).

David leads in several key areas, including discipleship, missions, and men’s and women’s ministries. He’s passionate about training and equipping church members to actively carry out the work of the church.

At home, David is married to Kathy, and they have three grown children: Emily (married to Seth), Hope (married to Malaki), and Nate. When he’s not serving or teaching, he enjoys pretty much anything that involves time with his kids—camping, cooking over a campfire, fishing, and hiking.

David loves serving at Acton Baptist. He’s encouraged by the strong community of mature believers, the steady stream of new families, and the church’s heart for missions. His hope is that every ministry at Acton Baptist becomes a place of connection—a place where people meet and follow Jesus, marriages are strengthened, and families are brought back to the center of the discipleship journey.
