"For we conclude that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law." -Romans 3:28

It’s easy to think that our relationship with God depends on how well we live. We try to be good, follow the rules, go to church, read our Bibles, and do the things we think Christians are supposed to do. But Romans 3 reminds us that none of those things can rescue us.

The story of Scripture has always been pointing to Jesus. The law showed us our sin. The sacrifices pointed toward the perfect sacrifice. The prophets pointed toward the coming Savior. And then Jesus came and did what we could never do—He lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again.

Our rescue isn’t something we earn. It is something Jesus accomplished for us.



That means we don’t have to spend our lives trying to prove that we are good enough for God. We can place our faith in Jesus and trust what He has already done. Our salvation isn’t about our performance. It’s about His grace.

• Do you ever find yourself trying to earn God’s approval?
• What does it mean to you that Jesus has already done what you could never do?
• How can you place more of your trust in Jesus this week instead of your own ability?

Pray:
Jesus, thank You for rescuing me through Your grace. Help me remember that I don’t have to earn Your love or prove that I am good enough. Thank You for living the perfect life I could never live and paying the price for my sin. Help me trust You, follow You, and live each day grateful for what You have already done. Amen.
